Guys, check it out: it's the offical #AchingJoy book promo! We're getting close to the October 2 release date, and I can't wait for you to read this book. You can find out more about it (and pre-order) at AchingJoy.com.

Hey, I’m Jason. Welcome. I’ve been telling my story of Faith, Fatherhood, and Autism here on this blog for the past five years. This year, I’m releasing my first book through NavPress. “Aching Joy: Following God through the Land of Unanswered Prayer” chronicles my own spiritual and emotional journey with my son Jack. You can pre-order it today!

In the meantime, welcome, friend. I hope you’ll journey with us.

We See You (A Letter to Special Needs Siblings)

I usually write about my autistic son Jack, but this one is for his brothers and sisters. Special needs siblings often get overlooked, but today, I want us all to sit up and take notice of their effort, their sacrifice, and their compassion. #WeSeeYou #SpecialNeeds #Autism #ASD #Siblings

I wrote this one for Jack’s siblings, Emily, Jenna, Sam, and Nathan. I got some help from my friends: photographer Anne Nunn and composer Robert Bearden. I’m blessed to be around such talented friends, and to be surrounded by such wonderful children. Special needs siblings are some of the most impressive people I’ve ever met.

A Reflection of Aching Joy (An Autism Dad's Poem to his Son)

I'm so excited (and a little terrified) to finally share this video. I love this boy, and if you knew him, you'd feel the same way, I promise. UPDATE (Oct 23, 2018): I never expected this video to go viral, and I never expected it to lead to a book, but it did both. This month, I released Aching Joy, and I'd love for you to read it here: https://tinyurl.com/ybfck5m6

I wrote this poem for Jack, and the video gained over a million FB video views in 4 days. It’s up to 3.2 million now. My friend Robert and I, who filmed and scored the video, never dreamed it would make the impact that it did. Out of this poem came to the title and theme for my book, “Aching Joy.”
